2 Hour Timer

Press Start to count down 2 hours.

This free 2 hour timer counts down 2 hours with a shrinking red disc you can read at a glance. 2 hours is 7,200 seconds (seven thousand two hundred seconds), or 120 minutes. It covers a film, an exam, a slow roast and a revision session.

What a 2 hour timer is good for

Two hours is a long countdown, and that is exactly why a visual timer helps. Seeing how much of the disc is left makes it easier to pace an exam, plan a revision session or decide when the film has to finish.

A film

Most films are under two hours, so this suits a film night with a fixed end.

A long exam

Practise a two hour exam with a break-down: check the disc at each quarter.

A slow roast

A two kilogram pork shoulder needs about two hours before resting.

A revision session

Two hours of revision with a ten minute break halfway is a steady morning.

To pace yourself, glance at the disc rather than the numbers. With the 2 hour timer running, half the colour has gone after 1 hour, and when only a quarter is left you have 30 minutes to wrap up. Open fullscreen if the timer needs to be read across a room, and add a label so everyone knows what the 2 hours are for.

How to use the 2 hour timer

  1. It is ready

The dial is already set to 2 hours. To change it, drag the disc, tap a preset or open Custom.

  2. Press Start

Or press the Space bar. The red disc shrinks back towards 12 o’clock as the time runs down.

  3. Watch the disc

Read the time left at a glance, or open fullscreen for a big dial that fills the screen.

  4. Time’s up

Your alarm plays until you press Stop. Press Reset or R to run the same time again.
